Robert originally joined the firm in 1994 after graduating from Harper Adams Agricultural College. Robert has been a Company Director since 2001 and Managing Director since 2020.

Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1995, Robert became a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1998.

Robert specialises in all aspects of Land Agency acting predominantly for a multitude of private landowners with a particular specialism in development agency and has a strategic portfolio of over 15,000 residential plots and multiple employment sites in the pipeline.

Married with two children Robert divides his time between Mather Jamie, family, shooting and his sheep flock.

Andrew has 25 plus years of experience as a surveyor in Leicestershire and the East Midlands. He became a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 1994 and a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) in 2008.

Andrew joined Mather Jamie as a Director in 2009 and specialises in advising on strategic development land for landowners and developers, from promotion through the planning and development process to acquisition or disposal.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys his country sports.

Alex Reid is head of the Commercial Department at Mather Jamie and has been a Commercial Surveyor in Leicestershire since 1992.

Alex joined Mather Jamie in 2002 and became a Director in 2007 actively involved in all aspects of the business, primarily focused on transactional agency, acquisition and disposal work across industrial, office, land, investment market and valuations.

Alex has been a member of the RICS since November 1996 and is also a qualified registered Valuer approved by the RICS to undertake formal “Red Book” valuation work.

Alex likes to keep fit with mountain-biking, skiing and gardening and is married with two children.

Martin is one of the founding Directors of Mather Jamie from 1991, having qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1980. He has overseen the growth and development of the firm, its Directors and staff, to where it is today.

His areas of expertise include land and property management, planning and development land sales, and he has been instrumental in the promotion and success of many major residential and commercial development schemes in the East Midlands, including New Lubbesthorpe (Leicester), Infinity Park and Infinity Garden Village (Derby), Money Hill (Ashby) and North East Leicester SUE.

Martin has a love of sport and the great outdoors, enjoying such pursuits as fishing, shooting and running. He completed his first (and only!) marathon in May 2016. He is also a keen supporter of local basketball team, Leicester Riders, whilst not forgetting his roots and remaining loyal, despite their performances, to Sunderland AFC.

Gary has a breadth of knowledge in land development matters and commercial property, including minerals and waste, but specialises in acquisitions and disposals, strategic land promotion and brownfield land regeneration.

Originally from a house building background, Gary was previously a Director at a publicly listed company focusing on major brownfield land regeneration and strategic land promotion. Gary specialises in advising on strategic development land for landowners and developers, from promotion through the planning and development process to acquisitions and disposals.

Married with one child, Gary enjoys country pursuits and is a keen road cyclist.

Amy is a Director at Mather Jamie specialising in estate management, land development, compulsory purchase and compensation and land and property sales. She is also one of the firm’s principle agricultural Valuers, registered to carry out RICS “Red Book” valuations.

Originally from a rural background, Amy achieved her master’s degree in Rural Estate and Land Management from Harper Adams University College and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Amy was also shortlisted for RICS Matrics Young Surveyor of the Year in 2016 and 2018.

In her spare time, Amy enjoys shooting and baking and is able to successfully combine both interests as a member of The Shotgun and Chelsea Bun Club. She is also a keen world traveller and spends a lot of time with her head in guidebooks planning her next big adventure…

Gary is a Chartered Surveyor involved in a range of rural property matters including estate management, landlord & tenant and compensation & compulsory purchase. Furthermore Gary is actively involved the residential development agency sector and has been involved with working up, marketing and disposing of a large number of residential development sites throughout the East Midlands ranging from sites for two dwellings up to large-scale developments delivering hundreds of homes.

Having spent a placement year with Mather Jamie in 2008-09, Gary re-joined the company in 2010 having obtained a degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University College. Gary became a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2012 and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 2013. Gary was promoted to the position of Senior Associate Director of Mather Jamie in 2021.

Gary lives in Melton Mowbray and comes from an established Leicestershire farming family, retaining close links with the rural community. Outside of work, Gary enjoys country pursuits, music and supporting Leicester City FC.

Hamish is an Associate Director at Mather Jamie specialising in estate management, land development, renewable energy and land and property sales. Hamish is a graduate from Harper Adams University and has lived and worked in the Midlands since moving from his native Cumbria.

Having started his career in traditional estate management, Hamish now advises on a wide range of topics in particular renewable energy and electricity storage as well as strategic development land around the Midlands and further afield.

Outside of work Hamish’s hobbies include running, skiing and all forms of country pursuits. Hamish is also on the committee for the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust for Leicestershire.

He has been involved in providing security valuations for major lending institutions and advice for property purchases, pension funds, company accounts, tax and other private purposes.

Peter also has extensive experience in dealing with rent reviews, lease renewals and landlord and tenant negotiations across the commercial, retail and industrial sectors.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys walking, shooting, supporting Leicester Tigers and travelling to Devon to see the extended parts of his family.

Tom joined Mather Jamie as Senior Planning Manager in October 2020, following a 13 year career in planning consultancy. Tom has a broad range of planning experience, including leisure, commercial and retail developments, but has developed particular expertise in residential development. Acting on behalf of landowners, promoters and housebuilders, Tom has seen developments through every stage of the process, from initial appraisals of sites through to local plan promotion, outline and reserved matters applications and implementation of consents.

Having previously been involved in all aspects of planning consultancy, including acting as expert witness at public inquiries, Tom now advises clients on the strategic promotion of sites, helping to formulate and implement the planning strategy, and overseeing the consultant team at every stage of the planning process.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys all forms of cycling (both pedal- and motor-powered), as well as skiing, cooking and travelling. He already has his son hooked on two wheels, and is looking forward to getting him onto skis as well.

Having grown up on the family farm, Hannah obtained a degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University College. Hannah became a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2009 and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 2011.

Upon graduation in 2008, Hannah joined a Midlands based firm of chartered surveyors, where she worked for 5 years before joining Mather Jamie in 2014.

Outside of work, Hannah's spare time is taken up with her flock of sheep.

Mark has over 30 years' experience as a rural practice surveyor and auctioneer in Derbyshire and Leicestershire. He joined Mather Jamie in 2006 and specialises in advising clients on Basic Payment Scheme matters as well as environmental and forestry schemes. He is involved with all types of agricultural land and estate management including setting up and overseeing contract farming arrangements and farm tenancies.

Mark enjoys number of sports, is a supporter of The Leicester Riders Basketball team, Leicester Tigers and Derby County and attends as many games as he can. Living on the edge of the Peak District, he also enjoys cycling and walking in the area with his wife

Charlie joined Mather Jamie in September 2020 after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in Real Estate. Whilst Charlie was at University, he completed a placement year with a national commercial real estate practice in London. Charlie is currently working towards becoming a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer.

Charlie works within both the Commercial and Development teams. In the Commercial team, Charlie's main focus is working on transactional agency instructions across the industrial, office, retail, land and investment markets, as well assisting with professional work, which includes valuations, lease renewals and rent reviews. In the Development team, Charlie assists with the the promotion of both employment and residential strategic development sites, along with development land sales.

Charlie is originally from Leicestershire and outside of work he enjoys all kinds of sports, keeping fit and watching Leicester City.
