Mather Jamie is working exclusively with a leading regional property consultancy to recruit a Commercial Valuations Surveyor to join its established professional team.
The role offers responsibility for a varied commercial valuation portfolio across Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands, including industrial, office, mixed-use and occasional trading assets. The majority of instructions come from long-standing, repeat clients. While you’ll be the sole dedicated commercial valuer, you’ll work closely with a collaborative commercial and rural team, benefitting from shared expertise and support.
MRICS Qualified and Registered Valuers with strong commercial experience, good technical knowledge, and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating with others are encouraged to apply.

Graduate Commercial Surveyor

We seek an efficient, articulate, pro-active and highly organised individual to join our Commercial Agency Team primarily assisting with day-to-day lettings and sales of industrial, office and retail properties.
The position will provide an interesting and varied workload to include all aspects of commercial agency including landlord and tenant, rent reviews, lease renewals, viewings, inspections, tenant and client liaison. Opportunity for valuation experience with our registered valuer is also part of a rounded experience ideal for a graduate looking to a good base for the start of their career.
As the role is varied and at times demanding, the successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and possess a calm demeanour with a common-sense approach.
- The ability to learn new skills and working methods and be adaptable to change
- Capable of working as part of a team and on their own initiative
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to clients, tenants, external contractors and colleagues
- Computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are considered
essential, plus the ability to demonstrate an adaptability or willingness to learn the use of property-specific software packages and online resources - The ability to work in an organised and methodical fashion, with high levels of attention
to detail - The ability to work calmly under pressure and to prioritise and meet deadlines
- A pro-active approach to work and a willingness to get involved and put forward ideas
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively
- Some knowledge of commercial agency would be advantageous but is not essential. A positive attitude, lots of personality and acute attention to detail are more important
- A full clean driving licence is considered essential
