Land with significant new homes planning approval sells to Deeley Homes

The 6.15 acre site lies off Saxelby Road, close to the main thoroughfare of Asfordby, a village three miles west of Melton Mowbray. Planning permission includes a legal agreement that provides for contributions towards secondary education, travel and civic amenities, offsite affordable housing, and more.
The new homes are to consist of 20 market sale, 25 shared ownership and 10 rented homes.
Asfordby is a well-connected Leicestershire village that links to Melton Mowbray to the east and Lougborough and Nottingham to the west. The village itself benefits from pubs, takeaway restaurants, a Post Office, convenience store and garage, all of which are within easy walking distance of the development site. There are primary and secondary school options in the vicinity, all of which are rated “Good” by Ofsted, and private education options are also available at nearby Oakham and Loughborough.
Widely known as the Rural Capital of Food, Melton Mowbray boasts a range of independent and high street shops and restaurants, a popular weekly market and various other amenities including healthcare and secondary education facilities, in addition to which the town hosts an annual food festival. Leicester and Nottingham are within 15 and 20 miles of the site by road respectively, while East Midlands Airport is 20 miles away.
