12/10/2026
Mather Jamie has completed the sale of the final residential phases at Rugby Gateway to Bloor Homes, securing the next stage of a major housing development that will in totality deliver 1,300 new homes alongside the already-operational primary school and children’s nursery.
The land benefits from planning approval for 550 dwellings and represents the final residential phases of the wider Rugby Gateway development.
The original planning application for Rugby Gateway was submitted in 2010 and development commenced on the initial phases in 2012. Since the inception of the project, Mather Jamie has acted for the private landowning family, providing strategic property advice and negotiating the sale of each residential phase as the scheme has progressed.
Over the years, Mather Jamie has successfully negotiated the sale of residential phases at Rugby Gateway to both Bloor Homes and CALA Homes, helping to facilitate the delivery of a substantial new community on the site.
The latest transaction marks the completion of the landowner’s involvement in the residential development and represents another significant milestone for Rugby Gateway.
Commenting, Gary Kirk, Director at Mather Jamie, said: “Having been involved with Rugby Gateway from the very beginning, it is particularly satisfying to have completed the sale of the final residential phases. We are pleased to have acted for our client throughout the project and to have negotiated the sale of each residential phase. Securing this latest sale in challenging market conditions is a significant achievement, and we are delighted to have worked with Bloor Homes to bring the transaction to a successful conclusion.”
Dave Bignell, Divisional Land Director at Bloor Homes, added: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of the final residential phases at Rugby Gateway. The site provides an important opportunity to deliver a further 550 high-quality new homes in Rugby, building on the success of the wider development. We have worked closely with Mather Jamie throughout the transaction and look forward to progressing the scheme.”
Mather Jamie’s involvement demonstrates the value of long-term land and development expertise, with the firm supporting the landowning family from the initial stages of the project through planning, negotiations and the sale of successive development phases.
