Mather Jamie Wins Deal of the Year at East Midlands Property Dinner 2025
12/09/2025

Mather Jamie is delighted to announce that we have won Deal of the Year, sponsored by Freeths, at the East Midlands Property Dinner 2025. The award was presented in recognition of our role in the £70m-plus sale of the Enderby Logistics Hub, one of the most significant employment land transactions in recent years.
The deal saw the sale of the 83-acre site, located just outside Leicester, to Royal London Asset Management Property and Canmoor. Once complete, the development will deliver 1.2 million sq ft of prime logistics and industrial space, unlock around £300 million of economic value, and create up to 2,000 permanent jobs for the region.
Overcoming Challenges to Deliver Regional Growth
The recognition reflects not just the scale of the deal, but also the determination and expertise required to make it happen. Mather Jamie acted as joint selling agents alongside Cushman & Wakefield, representing the landowners — The Drummond Estate and Inverock Trust.
Our team played a central role in guiding the project through a long and complex journey, which included:
- Navigating planning refusals and community objections before outline consent was finally secured in 2023.
- Shaping the long-term vision for the site and ensuring its potential as part of the UK’s “Logistics Golden Triangle” was realised.
- Implementing a robust disposal strategy, which attracted strong institutional interest and resulted in a competitive bidding process.
- Leading negotiations that delivered a sale in excess of £70 million.
The award is a recognition of the persistence, strategic guidance, and sector knowledge needed to bring this landmark scheme forward.
A Landmark Development for the East Midlands
The Enderby Logistics Hub is set to be one of the largest logistics schemes in Leicestershire’s history. Once developed, it will:
- Deliver state-of-the-art logistics and industrial accommodation
- Create up to 2,000 jobs for local communities
- Generate around £300m of economic output annually
- Strengthen the East Midlands’ position at the heart of UK logistics
This is not only a transformational project for Leicester and the wider region, but also a clear vote of confidence in the East Midlands’ role as a national hub for logistics and distribution.
