Mather Jamie helps raise £30,000 for LOROS Hospice through ‘Stomp around Leicester’ initiative

Mather Jamie is proud to have supported Stomp around Leicester, a citywide art trail raising vital funds for LOROS Hospice.
Between 14th July and 21st September, Leicester’s streets were transformed with a spectacular display of 40 giant elephants and 82 baby elephants, each individually designed by local artists and community groups. The trail brought colour, creativity, and joy to the city, attracting thousands of visitors and raising money for LOROS, which provides specialist palliative care to local people and their families.
Mather Jamie joined forces with Wilson Browne Solicitors to sponsor Lot 31 – ‘Remember Me’, a poignant elephant sculpture created by artist Anna Shutt. The design draws inspiration from the ways we remember loved ones, featuring Polaroid-style photo frames, forget-me-nots, robins, and butterflies – each symbolising memory, love, and loss.
Following the conclusion of the trail, the ‘Remember Me’ sculpture was auctioned for an incredible £30,000, contributing significantly to the total funds raised for LOROS.
The sculpture was displayed inside This + That by LOROS on Leicester’s High Street throughout the summer, where it became a much-loved highlight of the trail.

Speaking about the initiative, Gary Kirk, Director at Mather Jamie, said:
“It was a privilege to be involved in such a creative and meaningful community project that brings people together and supports such an important local charity. LOROS plays a vital role in caring for people across Leicestershire, and we’re delighted that our sponsorship, alongside Wilson Browne Solicitors, has helped raise such a significant amount towards their work.”
LOROS provides free, specialist care and support to more than 2,500 people each year, but it costs £8.5 million annually to deliver its services. Events like Stomp around Leicester, delivered in partnership with Wild in Art, are key to ensuring the hospice can continue offering compassionate, high-quality care to those who need it most.
