Leading Leicestershire lift firm moves up to listed Loughborough premises

Axess 4 All Ltd has made Chapel House on Leicester Road, one of the most recognisable buildings in Loughborough, its new Head Office, after moving from a high end industrial unit on the northern outskirts of Leicester.

The impressive, Gothic Revival style, Grade II listed building, located just inside the entrance to Loughborough cemetery, will house 14 staff from the leading UK platform lift supplier, which is part of Cibes Lift Group, the largest platform lift company in Europe.

“When we saw that Chapel House, which is recognised as one of the most beautiful period buildings in the county, was available through Mather Jamie, we realised it was ideal for us.”

Designed by Bellamy and Hardy, and described by celebrated architectural historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as being “unsurpassed by any other building erected for the same purpose in the kingdom” in his 1960 book Buildings of Leicestershire and Rutland, the former chapel was restored and modernised at the end of the millennium after falling into disrepair.

The comparatively recent restoration of the 2,347ft premises means Chapel House has thoroughly modern features, including gas central heating and underfloor heating, plus up to fifty phone lines and high speed internet capability, interior insulation, fitted carpets and double glazing.
