International Women's Day - Celebrating our leaders
Amy Biddell is flying the flag for International Women's Day by attending an event which was held at Lincolnshire Showground on Wednesday 8 March for those who work in the world of agriculture. The event featured talks from a number of inspiring women, and hosted by award-winning Lincolnshire chef Rachel Green.
International Women’s Day is a growing global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. As a guest of Wilkin Chapman Solicitors who advise some of Amy's Estates clients on agricultural matters, the line-up of speakers is impressive. They included:
- Caroline Kenyon, owner of The Food Awards Company
- Claire Birch, owner of Doddington Hall & High Sheriff of Lincolnshire
- Helen Bell, owner of Romancing the Ordinary Retreats
- Dr Sandra McCutcheon, founder and principal consultant at Mindfulness Skills4Life
The event, which was a complete sell-out, was attended by over 200 senior businesswomen from across the County.
Commenting Amy said, "Whilst Women now have the opportunity take on any role in business, their overall number in the agricultural property and surveying industry is still very low in percentage terms, particularly at senior management level. Days like today are an important part of raising the profile of the value women can add to businesses and will hopefully encourage more and more women to consider a career in our industry."
