£740 Raised for Breast Cancer Now

What a great motivational boost it has been to return to the office for the start of 2024 to learn the final tally from our fund raising in aid of Breast Cancer Now.

On Monday 11 December 2023, all Mather Jamie staff and Directors were encouraged to wear a Christmas Jumper or T-shirt and buy raffle tickets. Staff also baked cakes and bought in home-cooked curries in return for a donation which also boosted our total.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity and willingness to donate, buy raffle tickets and contribute to our food sale we have raised an incredible £740.

In addition to staff donating prizes for the raffle, we were also supported by some local companies who donated either a voucher or a prize for the raffle, who we would like to thank.

In addition, various vouchers were donated by Mather Jamie, plus there was a voucher donated by a family member of one of our staff.

Why we chose Breast Cancer Now? 

Towards the end of 2022 “one of our own” was diagnosed with breast cancer and BCN has been a go-to charity for her for advice and support over the recent months and will continue to offer her support for the years to come.

Breast Cancer Now have a mission statement that “by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live”. They support both men and women who are diagnosed. They have specialist researchers and scientists making gains against the disease on a daily basis.

As we know, cancer is non-discriminatory, it doesn’t care of your age, gender, health, etc, which is why charities like Breast Cancer Now rely on fundraising so that they can continue their amazing research and support those with a diagnosis.
