Land off Melton Road, Burton on the Wolds

Mather Jamie were instructed by a private landowner to seek developer and promoter interest in a strategic development opportunity located in the village of Burton on the Wolds situated in Leicestershire. Willaim Davis Ltd were selected as the preferred party and an Option Agreement was entered into in September 2013.

Mather Jamie acting on behalf of the landowner monitored the promotion of the land through the Local Plan by William Davis Ltd where they successfully achieved an allocation in the Local Plan and obtained Outline Planning Permission for 70 dwellings in April 2021. William Davis secured their Reserved Matters Approval in May 2022 and a Price Notice was subsequently served by William Davis to trigger the Option Price.

Project Outcome

Mather Jamie acting on behalf of the landowner negotiated the purchase price for the site in line with the Option Agreement terms to William Davis in a timely manner which represented an excellent result for the landowner and William Davis Ltd giving them the ability to start site construction promptly.

This case study represents great example of Landowner, Agent and Developer working collaboratively throughout the planning process to secure a planning permission and agreeing the purchase price in a timely manner which benefitted all parties.
