Mather Jamie, acting on behalf of a private landowner, were instructed in 2018 to seek developer and promoter interest in a strategic development opportunity on the fringe of Wymeswold, which is situated within Charnwood Borough Council’s jurisdiction. Rainer Developments were appointed as the chosen development partner under a planning promotion agreement, which exchanged contracts in February 2019.
Mather Jamie acting on behalf of the landowner throughout, closely monitored the promotion of the site with Outline Planning Permission for 65 dwellings being successfully obtained in July 2021.
Following the grant on planning approval, Mather Jamie were instructed by the landowner to offer the land for sale by way of Informal Tender to a range of housebuilders.
After undertaking a thorough Informal Tender process, in the context of extremely strong competing interest, Dandara were selected as preferred purchaser.
Dandara purchased the site on an unconditional basis with simultaneous exchange and completion taking place in March 2022.
This case study is an excellent example of Landowner, Agent and Promoter working in harmony and with a common goal, to achieve a fantastic result for all involved.
