New homes coming to Long Whatton as residential development

John Sutton Developments, a local, family run firm of developers and builders, bought the 0.42 acre site in the Leicestershire village, located on the corner of Main Street and Smithy Lane.

The site has already been granted outline planning permission by North West Leicestershire District Council for the erection of up to four dwellings with associated access, parking and landscaping. Work is expected to start on the development later in 2018.

A spokesperson for John Sutton Developments, said, “We are very pleased to have acquired this well located and promising site and we look forward to being able to present an exclusive selection of our bespoke, high quality houses to the village.”

Amy Biddell, Associate Director of Mather Jamie, said, “We received a lot of interest in this site, which shows the demand for good quality development opportunities in the area. This also reflects the current buoyant residential market in the East Midlands, which is one of the top regions in the UK for fastest growing house prices.”

“With excellent road links to Junctions 23 and 23a of the M1, East Midlands Airport and other major routes, and being close to Nottingham, Leicester, Loughborough, this site is sure to prove an excellent investment.”

Long Whatton is a thriving village in the heart of the National Forest near the northern boundary of Leicestershire, with a primary school, post office, shops and pubs handily located along its mile long Main Street.
