Job Role

We seek an efficient, articulate, pro-active and highly organised Business Manager to join our team.  The Business Manager will hold responsibility for ensuring Mather Jamie maintains close control of its financial reporting, HR and compliance matters.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with prior office management experience, excellent commiunication skills and the ability to be flexible and adapt to differing work styles.

A key aspect of this role will be to liaise with internal teams, Directors and client’s and therefore strong evidence of exceptional customer care skills and the ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality are a must.

The ideal candidate must be able to prioritise and work under pressure with a keen eye for detail and numbers and have experience and understanding of general office procedures.  Computer literacy and experience using all MS Office packages are also a essential.

As the role is varied and at times demanding, the successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and possess a calm demeanour with a common sense approach.



This is a very influential and pivotal role within the company so you must also be able to:

  • Work with the finance team to produce budgets, forecasts, monthly management information and agenda’s for Board Meetings.
  • Maintain and implement anti-money laundering policy, bribery and corruption policy, complaints procedures and correspondence with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Organise and audit company systems, databases, and procedures.
  • Overall responsibility for office premises and business continuity.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and insurers.
  • Manage office staff, contractors and visitors.
  • Ensure all HR matters and contracts of employment are compliant.
  • Update and enforce Health and Safety and Fire regulations.
  • Monitor training material and manage the training calendar.
  • Provide administrative support for the Directors as required.
  • General office admin to include ensuring subscriptions and online resources are licenced and maintained.


Hours & Salary

Full time, 37 hours per week (9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am – 5.00pm on Fridays)

Salary – £40k + per annum plus discretionary bonus.
