Agents Mather Jamie have completed a number of agricultural land sales in recent weeks.
The Loughborough based firm has sold 125 acres of land between Rempstone and Hoton as well as 16 acres of SSSI grassland off Meadow Lane in Loughborough.
Sold by Private Treaty, the Rempstone land was marketed in two lots with Lot One comprising 96.3 acres of arable land and 3.53 acres of woodland. Lot Two comprised 27.44 acres of permanent pasture and a small rough woodland area. Both lots sold well, achieving values close to their guide prices of £750,000 and £137,000 respectively.
The grazing land at Meadow Lane, Loughborough consisted two parcels sold as whole by Private Treaty. The land is part of the Loughborough Meadows Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Mather Jamie surveyor Gary Kirk said both sites had attracted much interest with agricultural land in the East Midlands reflecting the trend of rising values reported nationally this year.
He added “There is strong demand from working farmers and investors for agricultural land in the area. This is a reflection of increased farming profitability particularly in the arable sector, and also the inheritance tax reliefs available for investors’’.
